How to Play Sort It Out: Category Sort
Playing this fast arcade puzzle requires slick management and rapid movements. The play area features a classic 5×4 grid of cells arranged cleanly on a rustic wooden table. Some of these grid cells serve as gold category goal slots with clear markers like “Animals 0/6”. Other cells on the board hold thick, messy stacks of mixed cards. You can only grab and move the top visible card from any active stack at one time.
To begin organizing, drag the top card away from its current position. Drop the item directly onto the matching gold category slot. For example, place a burger icon card directly into the Food goal cell. If you accidentally attempt to place an item into the wrong category, the card is rejected immediately. It will snap right back to its original position.
Use the lower storage shelf wisely to navigate difficult blockages. A special holding shelf containing five free slots runs along the bottom of the screen. Drag an awkward top card over to an empty shelf space to reach the hidden cards buried underneath. Additionally, you can drop any card onto a completely blank grid cell as a temporary holding spot. Complete more full categories than your rival before the intense timer hits absolute zero to claim victory. Ties automatically go to you!
