Welcome to the terrifying depths of LifeCode. This is an atmospheric survival horror game set inside an abandoned, procedurally generated laboratory. Following a catastrophic incident, facility personnel evacuated the area. To secure their dangerous secrets, they deliberately sabotaged the data storage array. This left the central artificial intelligence core, known as A.R.C.H., under immense processing strain. Left unchecked, the system will trigger a catastrophic explosion.
A.R.C.H. requires someone to do its dirty work, but only mutated monsters remain inside. Luckily, the AI found you. You play as a unique, intelligent creature capable of independent logic. Complete high-stakes collection tasks for the core to restore its lost memory databases. However, you are not alone. Wild, ravenous monsters roam the dark corridors, and to them, you are nothing but food.
How to Play LifeCode
Surviving this laboratory nightmare requires tight resource management and acute spatial awareness. Each in-game day begins at 10:00 AM at your safe base. Your first task is to manually adjust the base antenna angle. A perfect alignment applies a massive multiplier (from $0.5$ to $5$) to the data you harvest.
Once prepared, enter the procedurally generated testing facility. Search for an M3N (Memory Export Node) terminal and activate Phase One to begin data extraction. Each node runs for 2 to 5 minutes. While the upload progress bar fills, scavenge nearby crates for vital food, flashlights, and medical packs. Avoid stalking monsters at all costs. If cornered, defend yourself using physical punches.
Gather a special currency called N-Neutrons during your operations:
- Start M3N Export: Generates 3N to 8N on Normal difficulty.
- Trigger Phase Two: Completing the upload and starting Phase Two awards 50N to 65N.
- Control Core Functions: Returning to base to activate Control Core Function 1 gives 110N to 190N, while Function 2 yields 210N to 340N.
Spend your hard-earned N-Neutrons at scattered vending machines to stock up on premium survival items. Once a node completes its run, activate Phase Two to harvest additional bulk memory.
Always keep an absolute watch on the ticking clock. You must return to base and sleep on the old mattress before midnight. If you are still inside the facility after 12:00 AM, your character dies instantly. You will lose all your collected loot and unstored memory files. If you lose track of time, a loud warning siren will sound at 11:00 PM as emergency red lights illuminate the facility path.
